Super Fund Scores 45.6 out of 100 For Readability

Specialised training organisation and communications consultancy Ethos CRS recently analysed 80 different documents published online by the 10 largest industry and retail Superannuation funds.

The research was conducted to assess the readability of the funds’ product disclosure statements, financial services guide, annual reports, and company policies.

The 20 funds performed dismally in the analysis of readability, with an average score of 45.6 out of 100. The company that had the lowest readability score of 40.2 was Netwealth, with CareSuper having the highest score of 49.4.

With most Australians reading at a lower-secondary education level and only 1.3% reading at a tertiary level of understanding, this leaves many Australians in the dark when it comes to being educated about their Superannuation products.
